De Werf // Aalst

Architectural gem right in the heart of the Carnival City

THE CHALLENGE:

To visualize an intergenerational real estate project, integrating an existing mansion in Aalst.

Every city should be a place where young and old can live together. For this mixed housing project with 29 flats and 2 commercial spaces in total, plus 34 flats for assisted living and a day-care centre, Belly was asked to create the visuals. The challenge? Both the historical mansion ‘Herenhuis Gheeraerdts’ and the old leafy beech tree had to be integrated into the visuals.

THE WORK:

By effortlessly integrating the old mansion and the tree into the visuals of De Werf, you get a cool mix of old and new, just like the future inhabitants. With big, light flats, and multiple communal spaces to relax, these visuals depict the best of both worlds. Living and working, caring and playing, walking and relaxing… A pretty example of how durability, history and urban planning can go hand in hand.
